Hey everyone, I'm a n00b to this board, but heard it was good for JRSC hondas, so here I am. My quesition is, I'm looking into buying the endyn alternator stepper pulley to go from 6 psi to roughly 8.5 psi. I was reading a few other posts and I see people mentioning this Jim's pulley upgrade to add more psi. So is it a crank pulley, blower pulley, or stepper pulley??? and how much does it cost and how much boost does it add? Thanks in advance.

I think the boost upgrade between both pulleys is like 9-ish. The only difference ive seen from this board are that Jims are like 4,000 times better quality. I had to machine off the flange from the OE alt. nut and flip it around backwards to make mine fit. I mean, it fit, but i sure hate $hit that doesnt do what its supposed to do.

And another good thing would be that Jim could supply the proper belt with his pulley. Endyn told me it was around 650mm belt size...yea that worked. Freakin' idiots.

Go with Jim's pulley. I also had SERIOUS fitment problems with the Endyn pulley. I had to machine away material from the inside of the pulley so that the alternator nut could be screwed on. After that nut (and therefore the pulley) fell off twice (while I was driving), I decided it was a better idea to go with a pulley that actually fit!

I wonder how this stepper pulley went from being known as the "MVM Stepper pulley boost upgrade" to the loving term "Jim's pulley" ??? I know that Brian (Taipan) refers to the MVM pulley that I installed on his car as "Jim's Magic Pulley" in his signature... however, we all know my design ain't really magic... just regular ol' physics !!! heheheh

Anyway, give me a call at the shop and I can get you fixed up with one.

roughly, how much do they run for? I'll be looking to do it most likely within a month, I have to get my clutch done first which should be in about 2 weeks.

    'Tis indeed magic, laddies!

Why, just last Saturday I was runnin' up the mountain against a shiny new Eclipse GT. I hit the throttle and that Eclipse started gettin' smaller and smaller in the mirror! I suppose it could have been one of those incredible shrinking Eclipses, though.

Sometimes the boost gauge reads a tad over 10 psi but the magician at MVM says the actual boost is closer to 9 psi. The only problems I've had with the pulley are the occasional case of goose bumps and a bit of torque steering.

$150.00 for the pulley alone, and $170.00 for the pulley with the appropriate belt. Shipping is additional.
